Asus ZenWatch 2 and 3 Android Wear 2.0 roll out date pushed further

$

Up till now not everything has been smooth regarding the roll out of Android Wear 2.0 update to Asus ZenWatch 2 and 3. And it continues to be so. It seems users of ZenWatch 2 and 3 will need to wait a bit longer before they can boast of Android Wear 2.0.

Rewinding a bit, back in February Asus promised to release Android Wear 2.0 for ZenWatch 2 and 3 in early Q2. That clearly did not happen. This was followed by another announcement from Asus Germany via its Twitter handle of pushing the update to 1.63-inch ZenWatch 2 in July and to the 1.45-inch model in August.

Again, in another announcement Asus USA mentioned a few days ago that “Android Wear for the ZW3 will be released in the coming weeks if everything goes smoothly.” However, this seems highly unlikely as the said Tweet has since been erased.

Asus has not officially mentioned any reason for the delay in the roll out of  Android Wear 2.0 update to ZenWatch 2 and 3. Neither has it come forward to make any clarifications why it failed to stick to the timeline announced before. The present scenario leaves us clueless regarding the arrival of the update to either ZenWatch watch.

Samsung’s mid-range device Galaxy J7 Prime may soon be getting Android 7.0 Nougat update. We draw our inference from a GFXBench listing which has the Galaxy J7 Prime listed running Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

This possibly could mean that Samsung is currently testing the Nougat update for the mentioned Galaxy device. And once the testing is completed, a stable build of the new software will be rolled out to the Galaxy J7 Prime.

Samsung launched the Galaxy J7 Prime last year in September to woo the mid-range section with great internal hardware. The specsheet which boasts of 5.5-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass on top, octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, 13MP/8MP camera combo, 3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB ROM is near perfect. The only missing link is the Android Marshmallow OS which has not been upgraded yet.

Therefore, with the spotting of an Android Nougat running Galaxy J7 Prime on GFXBench, we can safely guess that the release of the Nougat update is imminent. And with that the users of this device will get to enjoy all the Nougat goodies making the smartphone more worthy of its price.
